About CharisFormed

What We Believe

The Triune God
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, coequal and coeternal. God is holy, just, and full of steadfast love.
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. Born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as our substitute, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to heaven where He intercedes for us and will return to judge the living and the dead.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, empowers, and sanctifies all believers. We affirm the continuation of spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church, under the Lordship of Christ and the authority of Scripture.
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God. It is the final authority for faith and practice, revealing God’s plan of redemption and equipping believers for every good work.
Humanity & Sin
We believe all humans are made in the image of God but are fallen in Adam and separated from God by sin. Without Christ, we are spiritually dead and under judgment.
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a sovereign act of God, not based on human merit, and leads to a transformed life of obedience and faithfulness.
The Church
We believe in the universal Church, composed of all true believers. Christ is the Head of the Church, and believers are called to gather, worship, disciple, serve, and walk in holiness.
Ordinances
We affirm two ordinances instituted by Christ: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. These are signs of grace, not means of salvation, and are to be observed in faith and reverence.
The Return of Christ
We believe in the visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ. He will establish His kingdom in full, judge the world in righteousness, and make all things new.
Eternal Life & Judgment
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust. Those in Christ will inherit eternal life; those who reject Him will face eternal separation from God.
Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
We believe that marriage is a covenantal union between one man and one woman. Gender is God-given and not self-defined. Sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage as defined by Scripture.
Spiritual Gifts
We believe that all spiritual gifts listed in Scripture are available today and are distributed by the Holy Spirit according to His will. These gifts must be exercised in submission to the Word and for the edification of the Church, not self-exaltation.

Ministry Distinctives

Honoring Christ’s Holiness and Inspiring Faithfulness
James 1:2–4, 1 Peter 1:15–16:

At the foundation of Charisformed is a reverence for God’s holiness. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and understanding His character transforms how we endure trials. James 1 teaches us to count it all joy, not because suffering is pleasant, but because through it, God refines us. When we behold His holiness, we are compelled to live faithfully, trusting that even in hardship, He is forming Christ in us.
Discerning the Times and Testing the Spirits
1 John 4:1, 1 John 2:18–20, Matthew 24:24:

The spirit of the antichrist is already at work, manifesting through false teachers, counterfeit signs, and subtle deceptions. Charisformed emphasizes discernment as essential for believers today. Scripture calls us to test every spirit and to remain watchful. This is not paranoia, but biblical vigilance. In love, we train believers to recognize what is false, discern spiritual influences, and remain rooted in Christ, the true Shepherd.
Teaching Sound Doctrine and Dismantling Deception
Jude 1:3, 2 Timothy 4:3–4, Acts 20:29–30:

False doctrine is one of the enemy’s most effective tools in the last days. Many teachings today distort the gospel for personal gain, leading people into bondage rather than truth. Charisformed is devoted to defending the faith and equipping believers with sound theology. This means not only proclaiming what is true but also identifying what is false. We contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints, knowing that truth brings freedom, not confusion.
Bridging the Gap Between Charismatic and Reformed Theology
John 4:24, Acts 17:11, 1 Corinthians 2:13:

Too often, the Church is divided, those who emphasize spiritual gifts and those who prioritize sound doctrine. But Jesus said the Father seeks worshipers in spirit and in truth. Charisformed seeks to unify these streams, promoting biblical theology that embraces the present work of the Spirit. We pursue a grounded, Spirit-filled faith where both the Word and the power of God are honored. Emotionalism without doctrine is unstable, and doctrine without power is incomplete. We need both.
Advocating for Biblical Mental and Spiritual Health
3 John 1:2, Isaiah 26:3, Proverbs 11:14:

Many believers silently suffer from mental and emotional struggles, often shamed or misunderstood within the Church. Charisformed is committed to addressing these issues from a biblically faithful standpoint. While modern psychology has sometimes compromised with New Age ideologies, we believe Scripture offers profound insight into the human heart, mind, and spirit. We offer support rooted in the truth of God’s Word, helping believers find wholeness without compromise.
A Prophetic Ministry Rooted in Christ
Jeremiah 1:5, Ephesians 4:11–12, 1 Corinthians 14:1–3:

The office of prophet remains part of Christ’s gift to the Church. While all believers may prophesy as the Spirit enables, prophets are appointed to pluck up, tear down, build up, warn, and edify the Body under Christ’s headship. Unlike Old Testament prophets who spoke infallibly on behalf of God, New Covenant prophets operate within a framework of accountability and communal discernment (1 Corinthians 14:29). Prophetic words must align with Scripture and point to Jesus. At Charisformed, prophetic ministry functions to strengthen the Church, confront deception, and call believers into greater maturity in Christ.
Equipping the Fivefold Ministry
Ephesians 4:11–13, Proverbs 11:14, Titus 1:9:

Charisformed is committed to equipping the fivefold ministry- apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers- with biblical education, spiritual counsel, and systems of accountability. The goal is not just gifting, but character and faithfulness. Many in the Church today have fallen into pride, spiritual abuse, or deception due to a lack of counsel, correction, and healthy leadership structures. Scripture is clear that “in the multitude of counselors there is safety” (Prov. 11:14). We must ensure that those in ministry are not isolated but are covered, tested, and walking in integrity.
We affirm that the fivefold offices are still active, but must be operating under the authority of Christ, tested by Scripture, and accountable to mature believers. This safeguards the Body from wolves in sheep’s clothing, those who appear spiritual but lead others into error (Matthew 7:15).
Evangelism and Defending the Faith
1 Peter 3:15, Acts 17:2–3, Jude 1:22–23:

Charisformed is devoted to making Christ known- both to unbelievers and to believers who have strayed or been misled. Evangelism is not only about proclaiming truth but also reasoning with love. Like Paul, we engage in persuasive, Spirit-led dialogue that appeals to both heart and mind. Whether confronting deception, answering objections, or walking someone through the gospel step by step, we do so with gentleness and respect, anchored in Scripture. The goal is not to win arguments, but souls. We believe that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation, and we are unashamed to defend it boldly in truth and compassion.
Equipping the Saints for Endurance and Maturity
Ephesians 4:11–14, Colossians 1:28, 2 Timothy 3:16–17:

God is raising up a Church that will endure to the end- not tossed by every wind of doctrine or broken by every trial. Charisformed equips the Body of Christ with biblical teaching, prophetic insight, and practical tools to stand firm. We believe in forming mature believers who reflect Christ in character and carry His authority. Our mission is to see a Church fully formed by the Word, empowered by the Spirit, and prepared for every good work.
Deliverance and Healing Ministry
Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18, Mark 16:17–18:

Jesus came to set captives free, and that work continues through the Church. Deliverance is not sensationalism- it is freedom in Christ. Healing, likewise, is a sign of God’s compassion and authority. Charisformed emphasizes biblical deliverance grounded in the finished work of Christ, not performance or formulas. Gifts of healing are distributed by the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:9), but the glory always belongs to God. This ministry exists to proclaim liberty to those bound, offering hope, healing, and restoration in the name of Jesus.
Women in Ministry:
We believe that God calls both men and women to serve in ministry roles according to the gifts He gives (Acts 2:17–18, Joel 2:28, Romans 12:6). In both the Old and New Testaments, women prophesied (Exodus 15:20, Judges 4:4, Luke 2:36, Acts 21:9) and played vital roles in the work of God.
While Christ is the ultimate covering for every believer, we also affirm the importance of accountability, testing of prophecy (1 Corinthians 14:29), and submission to Scripture in all ministry functions. We do not believe in isolated or unaccountable leadership. Therefore, we affirm women who are biblically faithful, Spirit-led, and submitted to Christ, functioning in roles such as teachers, evangelists, intercessors, and prophets, while honoring God’s order, humility, and the testing of all things (1 Thessalonians 5:21).
